Good horse riding starts with your state of mind, and  Your desire to enjoy a passion.  Horses don't care if you ride well or just hang on. Its what you express by your actions whilst handling and riding them.  Horses react to fear they can smell it; they read intention, fear is confusing, so they protect themselves with a reaction.  You must know or have seen the  gun hoe rider jumps on and rides flat out their horses have numb bodies and mouths. They never Feed them special feed, get their teeth done, feet sometimes and what is a  chiropractor wow. Yes these people fall off and get hurt and get back on. They still love their horses; any mishaps is usually their own fault. The horse rarely cause them a problem.

In most cases it's the rider who rides so well and lacks personal confidence that seems to get hurt and have the issues with their horses.   Then they send the horse off to trainer after trainer - clinic after clinic - spend a fortune on vets, herbs, therapy , saddle fitting and the list goes on.

When it's the rider that need to rebuild their confidence,  self trust and belief. When this happens you should find a trainer you know and trust, who will work with you and your horse as a team. More importantly the trainer must have the patience to not judge or criticise and just sell you a new horse. A new horse won't do it as you will over time transfer the problem to the new horse.

A horse challenges your fears - the horse questions your confidence  - the horse will disrespect you if you have self doubt.

 Why ?

Because if you express the above the horse becomes insecure - this creates bad habits - equine insecurity triggers fear, fight and flight. And when that happens they don't care who is on their back, or who and what is holding them.

No horse wants to hurt you, it's never their intention. They never want to hurt themselves because they hate pain.

They just want to be respected, loved, secure and not abused in both body or mind.

Gee their no different to us wow how about that.

Horse riding is a skill, a very personal thing you do for fun, relaxation or profession; you are their trainer, and keeper allow them to keep you safe.

Reflect ( stop and change )  Reality

 Safe riding.
